I've also plugged my computer directly into my apartment's ethernet port - which worked fine. And we do this for free, no waiting in a queue, no yelling at computers. Since this setup is normally seen only on business networks, your best bet to get around the MAC address filtering is to just ask to have your MAC address added to the approved list. Done the self test on sky website and that’s saying, all good. So, while your device might have no problem showing that Wi-Fi is connected, any attempt will be blocked to reach the internet or another network device. Start with unplugging your modem power cord for one full minute. The router doesn't connect to the internet (red internet light is on). Tried all the things advised by my ISP's tech support staff. The Pro 2 base station light is not green, not lit at all actually. I’m connected to sky hub, I’ve reset router etc and all lights showing ok. The light is green, and this is an existing unit I've used at my old apartment. An orange internet light indicates there is a problem with the connection to the ISP. On the front of the router, there are 2 lights: the power light, and an "earth globe" (internet)-light. I thought if the centre light was not on then it meant no connection?
There is no cable in the internet port at the back. I do have connection though? We first thought it was our router, but now we're using the wireless directly from the modem and it is showing as connected, but we get no internet access. Question: Q: Light is green, but no internet connect. This morning been struggling with my broadband. Any ideas?

A red internet light indicates that you have connected to the internet but the PPP username and PPP password that was entered into Actiontec Gateway is incorrect and your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is not allowing you to browse to anything on the internet because of that issue. I've restarted the computer, airport express, and unplugged the airport basestation. If you see any that are orange or amber and not green and blinking, you may have a modem issue. If you log into the router you will usually see 0.0.0.0 as you internet/WAN IP address. I can still access recordings and live vision so its obviously got connection to the iternet. After one minute, plug back in and let the modem reset itself and see if all the blinking lights come back on. The power light is green, but the internet light isn't! The ethernet cable is good otherwise there would be no light on so you can rule that out. But all devices keep either dropping out or timeout. Check you modem and make sure all lights on it are on normally. Modem is showing connected but no internet access Anyone else had or is having this problem. Does this mean that the router isn't sending out any wifi?
1.) Thank you so much!
